Shufersal Selects Pcysys as its Cyber Security Pentesting Platform
Tel Aviv, 21 October 2018 – Pcysys has announced that its automated penetration testing platform, PenTera, has been chosen to validate the resilience of Shufersal’s IT infrastructure.
Shufersal, the largest Israeli retailer, aims to provide high-quality and diverse products to all its customers. It strives to continually improve the security and cyber defense of its information network and data assets. As a result, the company is constantly searching for new cybersecurity technologies to strengthen their cybersecurity posture. Pcysys’ software has been chosen by Shufersal as part of its efforts to enhance the organization’s resilience against malicious hacking attacks.
Pcysys, founded in late 2015 by veterans of an elite IDF cyber warfare unit, has developed PenTera, an innovative software that mimics human hackers’ actions, performs Ethical Hacking and continuous penetration-testing for cybersecurity and data security managers.
Pcysys’ software identifies the vulnerabilities and attack vectors malicious hackers may use to penetrate the organization and prioritizes the remediation needed to prevent them. PenTera’s uniqueness lies in its ability to describe, in detail, the different attack paths and techniques used in order to reach the company’s core systems and databases, such as customer records or financial data.
In the age of dynamic changes in infrastructure and application software, corporates are required to pen-test regularly to ensure the effectiveness of their current cyber defenses against hackers. Manual pen-testing, typically performed annually, does not provide continuous validation to match the rapidly developing attack methods.
Mark Katz, IT manager at Shufersal, said “We find it important to protect our level of service and data by using advanced cyber protection technologies. An important part of this protection is pen-testing that inspects our systems from a hacker’s point of view and constantly puts our defense systems to the test. Pcysys’ software is integral in enhancing our security stress-testing practices for continuously building up our cyber resilience.”
Amitai Ratzon, CEO at Pcysys adds, “we are thankful that Shufersal chose to use our technology to ensure that their cybersecurity posture is in optimal condition at all times, ready to fend off even the shrewdest of hackers. The knowledge and practice of the IT staff at Shufersal is first class.”
Pcysys delivers an automated penetration-testing platform that assesses and reduces corporate cybersecurity risk. By applying the hacker’s perspective, our software identifies, analyzes and prioritizes remediation of cyber defense vulnerabilities. Security officers and service providers around the world use PenTeraTM by Pcysys to perform continuous machine-based penetration tests that improve their immunity against cyber attacks across their organization networks.
Shufersal is Israel’s leading retailer. The company aims to provide high-quality and diverse product to all its customers, rewarding its workers, and fair treating its suppliers. In 1958, Shufersal opened its first store in Tel-Aviv – the first modern supermarket of its kind in Israel. The success of that first store was leveraged into growth, resulting in Shufersal’s current position with hundreds of branches across Israel – from Kiryat Shmona in the north to Eilat in the south and an average of 2 million weekly customers.
